There is a major case of a well known business woman before the Supreme Court of India; Dr Nowhera Shaik to be precise. This case of public attention scheduled for 4th November 2024 has the value of disputed properties. High Court had upheld its October 2024 ruling.
What Are the Disputed Properties?
Details of high valued properties owned by Nowhera Shaik Hyderabad as well as surrounding region. These assets are being looked at pretty closely by the Supreme Court. Senior advocate Kapil Sibal and Justices Manoj Misra and J.B Pardiwala are handling Shaik’s case.
• Naina Towers: The Property is worth ₹90 crores in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. They’re checking the sale deed for any legal issues.
• Heera Foodex Property: The property covered 32.35 acres in Mehdipatnam, Bowenpally and a Ranga Reddy District spread valued over ₹ 120 crores. The purpose is to check there is no debt or ownership conflicts.
• Heera Retail Property: Located in Tolichowki, Hyderabad, it spans on 33,000 square yards which is worth of ₹750 crores. This property has claimed by the court, and it is investigating the potential third party claim.
Key Legal Challenges
Arguments in the case have been intense. It is a review application, and it should follow certain conditions, said lawyer Dushyant Dave. But it nevertheless allowed in fresh evidence added by Shaik’s legal team, with fresh details to consider.
Justice Pardiwala also stressed that before the properties were sold off, a verification must be ensured that the properties are clear of debts, third party claims etc. However, advocate Kapil Sibal told the court the assets were clear but wanted more time for detailed checks.
Deadline Extension Granted
Firstly, Dr Nowhera Shaik was asked to produce all legal actionable documents and give up by 4th November 2024. Later on, the court further granted Shaik’s team till 12th November 2024 to complete all the documents and sort out the remaining problems.
